Event photography involves many talents. From birthdays to political events the viewers of the images have very different expectations. As well, you may be expected to produce portrait, candid, lifestyle, documentary, and photojournalistic images.

Weddings, Engagements, and Births
Wedding photographers are considered specialists, This is not my specialty, and would not pretend that it is by any means. Being married three times myself, it is obvious that, not withstanding the fact that my wife Jen is my perfect mate, I may have a jaded view of the wedding event overall, and I would rather you be well served by someone else, rather than attempted to be served by me.
That said, I will do small weddings, elopements, City Hall ceremonies, and last minute acts of mercy when the original photographer bailed out days earlier without providing a replacement. Note however that when photographing these events, I treat it as a family event and photograph mostly in documentary style, (which strangely enough has become much more popular in this post pandemic world.)
I can often be made available on short notice for City Hall or small guest list weddings, practice dinner, or couples sessions for those from away and honeymooning in the Boston area. I generally insist on a 10 or 15 minute discussion with the bride and groom (by phone/video or in person) in order to be certain that we all expect the same things.
